Cabarrus County Enhances Park Safety with High-Tech Weather Alerts
From lightning detection to heat index warnings, the new weather system aims to better protect residents and staff.

As climate change intensifies, weather-related disasters are becoming increasingly common — a reality underscored by the historic flooding in Central Texas over the weekend, which has already claimed more than 100 lives.
To better prepare for such extreme conditions and protect residents, Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks (ALPs) has installed Perry Weather stations across four local parks, including Camp T.N. Spencer, Frank Liske, Rob Wallace and Virginia Foil.
