Addressing her prior remarks about public prayer, Escobar encourages community to "love one another."
She also encouraged politicians to lead with their faith in helping to support Cabarrus County Schools.
Pamela Escobar spoke during Monday’s Cabarrus County Schools Board of Education meeting about attending a religious school as a young girl.
“A lesson I learned in school, and something that still guides me today, is love one another as I have loved you,” Escobar said as she began to tear up.
That lesson, summed up in John 13:34, was best exemplified during a fall festival at Cox Mill Elementary School, when Escobar’s daughter left her side to hug her kindergarten teacher.
“My daughter loved her school because she felt loved and felt like she belonged,” Escobar said.
